AdBlue® is a high purity urea solution in demineralized water, also known as AUS32 (Aqueous Urea Solution 32.5%), used in selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to reduce the polluting emissions of diesel engines, in particular nitrogen oxides ( NOx), particularly harmful to people and the environment.

The quality parameters that regulate the production of AdBlue® are imposed by the standards DIN 70070 and ISO 22241. AdBlue®, in addition to having a specific concentration of automotive grade urea, must comply with the stringent quality parameters that regulate the contents of metals, minerals and other potentially harmful elements for components of the SCR system, such as catalyst, pump and injectors.
The solution is not dangerous, and does not provide particular safety precautions for transport and handling. However, urea is incompatible with some materials and must be stored and transported using containers that are not damaged when in contact with the product.
Furthermore, to guarantee maximum product life (12 months), AdBlue® must be stored at a temperature between -11 ° and + 30 ° C and protected from direct contact with the sun's rays.
